Artist Bio
Hi, I’m Heather Fry, a multi-disciplinary artist who finds joy in color, playfulness, and the little things that spark memory and connection. My work highlights the people, places, and moments that inspire me, often blending paper quilling, collage, painting, fiber arts, and more to create bright, joyful pieces that feel both nostalgic and fun.
Art has been a thread through my life for as long as I can remember. As a kid, I was just as thrilled to get a pack of pens from Walmart as I would have been with any toy. Years later, during a difficult season while caring for my mom, I turned back to art as a source of comfort and rediscovery. That journey led me through string art and woodworking, and eventually to a paper quilling class that rekindled my love of creating. From there, I kept exploring new mediums and fell in love with the ways they can intertwine.
In 2023, I joined the newly formed Bedford Arts Collective, where I have grown not only as an artist but also as an organizer and advocate for community creativity. I also own The Artist’s Hoard, a cozy, colorful corner of creativity in Shelbyville, TN, where I teach classes and bring people together to explore their own artistic voices.
Alongside my studio practice, I hold a master’s degree in Instructional Design and work as a freelance designer, specializing in online learning and creative education. Teaching has become an essential part of my work, whether it is guiding a student through their first paper quilling piece or helping a business bring ideas to life through design.
At the heart of everything I do is a desire to share joy, inspire connection, and remind people that art belongs to everyon
